Jab Jab film released.

We have finally released our short film about Jab Jab for your viewing pleasure. This is mainly due to our very good friend Joe losing his incredibly long standing fight with cancer. As he shows in the film, he was a great man who let nothing get him down or ruin his enjoyment of life. This film is about all of the inspiring individuals who created some great music and memories with Joe. Charlie on guitar, Skinhead on Drums and Rob on Keys. We had a great time making this and spending time with the band. Here’s to an incredible musical legacy that these guys created, and hopefully our little film is now a small part of that. “Keep on smiling”

Green Man festival

Working with Mahogany again, but this time in a field. It was great getting away from it all for a few days and filming the sessions for Green Man Festival with the Mahogany Crew. The variety of talent on display in such an intimate setting really helps show the ethos of Green Man. Surrounded by Welsh Hills, the artists seemed to evoke the spirit of their surroundings to pull off some great stripped down tracks. Enjoy!

Maiden Castle, its not a castle…

On one of the hottest days of the year we went to Maiden Castle, just outside of Dorset to create this piece for English Heritage. With some fun kit we hopefully captured and conveyed the evocative nature that the soundscape piece creates. If you’re in Dorset, download the free soundscape and see the great work English Heritage are doing for yourself.

Messiah at Bristol Old Vic

It was a lot of fun helping Brett Turnbull and his crew shoot Messiah at Bristol Old Vic. The beautiful old theatre was utilised to great effect for this dramatic interpretation. The final piece can be viewed through Apple Music, more info here.

Beauty Unseen

It was a lot of fun as well as incredibly humbling to be a part of the Beauty Unseen show at Bristol Fashion Week 2016. We were tasked with capturing the entire live show to create an event film, as well as a shorter promo. This was to highlight the role models and their inspirational stories in helping empower other people. Their selfless work can be seen at the Beauty Unseen site.

Jab Jab – The biggest band you’ve never heard of

2015 was the year of Jab Jab. The very talented Amanda Whittington decided to make a film about one of the UK’s first cross genre groups, Jab Jab. They were a big deal on the live circuit in the 70’s, but due to a lack of recordings beyond their bootlegged gigs, their story had remained unheard to a generation of music lovers. Until now. We are pleased to say that the film won an award at the Exeter Two Short Nights film festival, and due to its on going inclusion in festivals the film has not been released yet. But to show you what they are doing now, here is one of their tracks we filmed at Chapatti in the Park up in the Lake District. Hey You

Snowbombing

Mayrhofen. What a place! I was lucky enough to be taken out there to be part of the team that created the highlight social media films for Snowbombing 2016. Trying to keep up filming pro boarders by day, and then trying to keep up with acts like the Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and Skepta by night. Here’s to many more Bombs!

Tim Rivers and fast turnarounds

At the tail end of last year, my good friend and talented singer songwriter Tim Rivers decided we should make a music video together. Unfortunately he hadn’t recorded any tracks for the film to be based around. Not to let that small factor deter him, Tim set off to the beautiful Monnow Valley Studio near Monmouth with a few ideas. Half a day later he had an EP recorded. The next day we listened to the tracks, decided which one to make a film for, and by the end of the day it was finished. Two days from concept to finished film is definitely a record for me. You can find the final piece here
